Shannon's Vision

As a photojournalist, I’ve worked in some very intimate and difficult situations but none for me, was as eye-opening as my time photographing people actively dying at Bethell Hospice. In my Documentary film I explore Hospice philosophy vs. Hospital culture. The myths and misunderstanding around palliative care, our natural fear of dying and the story of Lorna Bethell, a woman who fiercely dedicated her last years fulfilling her husband Tony death bed ask. That no one should ever die alone.
